Versys owner demographics - age poll - please vote

You can see the current results after you vote in the poll!

Please vote as the more participants the greater the accuracy. The results are anonymous. After seeing a similar poll on the HD site that showed 70% of HD owners are in the 50 to 85 age range with the majority past the age of retirement, I am curious how the Versys compares.

Note to moderator, let's make this thread a sticky.

I hope I'm still riding when I'm 80+. Congrats to whoever is in that group.

I see 78 people have viewed this thread but only a 12 have completed the poll. Let's have more user participation to make this accurate.

I'm 49.5 tomorrow morning at 3AM. I didn't know if I should vote for 40-49 or 50-59.
I'll vote for 40-49 tonight. Will it let me change to 50-59 tomorrow?

Well, I'm not an official owner yet, but the day the V1000 hits my dealer I will be...and I wanted to see the results. Pretty typical of motorcycling in general. Seems to be mostly older farts. Not sure how well that bodes for the industry. I kinda expect that in the cruiser demographic, but I would have thought there would be a lot more younguns on an affordable bike like the Versys.

Most of the "younguns" are on crotch rockets, dead, and/or crippled. Young people are smarter but older people are wiser. The motorcycle industry's cash cow is 3 month old totaled crotch rockets. Back in 2000, the average life of a motorcycle rider in Florida was 6 months, skewed by crotch rockets and new Harley Davidson owners.

Most people do not know what a Versys is, but the ones that do, it is on their top 3 of bikes they want to buy asap. This bike rocks! The only thing all those people voting have in common is they all have "tall balls", lol.

There's no rounding off your age... You won't be in the 50-59 category until you reach 50 years of age revolved in 6 months from tomorrow at 3AM.

We are in fact all getting older at the same rate, which can change data accuracy and complicate matters as time goes by.

Hope you were making a joke. Otherwise, many many riders died the moment they sat on the bike to make the average stay 6 months with my 35 years of riding.

Arrgh! That means I'm 70! Actually 69.8 but there's no turning back. Rats! The good news is that I'm still waiting to grow up.

I didn't expect the demographis to be so biased to mature gentlemen. I guess practical bikes do not make sense for the younger crowd. I'm 36, my Versys fulfills commuter, weekend riding and touring duties, I also have a GSX-R that does trackdays and very ocasionally, weekend rides.

Yeah I was a little shocked also. I'm 38 and thought I was old.

OK, I'm right in the middle of the 49-50 age range.

Wow, only 8 people in my age group.

I guess young people don't really don't do this type of motorcycling. Most of the 20-somethings I know buy ratty old 600's/1000's and try to kill themselves on public roads in the first week.

Hope I can ride much longer than that. (knocks on wood)
