Ninja 650 review in the new RIDER magazine

Rider just did a very positive review of the Ninja 650R this month. Wha are the main differences in this bike and the V?

Having owned a 650R I feel qualified to answer half of the question. I have never owned nor ridden (is that a word?) a Versys, yet I drool when thinking about them. The 650R is a great value with good fuel economy, low maintenance, practicable, good power, comfortable ergos, nice commuter etc etc.

I would venture to say that the Versys has better suspension , even better ergos, and a nice view to look ahead with the taller seat height. I have read that the Versys is tuned for a little more low end (not that the 650R was bad). Personally I do not feel the Versys is a dual sport, rather a street bike with better suspension to handle bigger bumps in the road.

It all depends on what you are looking for in a bike. I would like a Versys for that little extra that it offers.
