That trail looks like a very nice place to ride... on a dirt bike. The Versys is not the correct bike for that terrain though. He obviously didn't own the bike or he wouldn't have abused it like that. He does like lugging his engine too. He had no choice in the dirt but he even lugged it on the pavement in the town.

You heard right, it was probably the official European press intro in Sardinia, but he spoke Swedish.

The web site at the end of the video was *.SE = Sweden so I guess the language was Swedish

I then remembered it was www.fastbikes.se so I found the site and the page which I used a Google Toolbar to translate

Yes - it was in Sardinia

Although I have had Miss Jaffa (Burnt Orange 2007 Versys) for a while, I still have a lot to learn.

I agree.
Versys can do this type of roads, but so can any bike if you point it and twist the throttle.
I don't baby mine, but every time I'm on the rough terrain I feel a bit guilty for torturing it. (And a bit more insecure since I'm still on stock tires.)

Some Scandinavians signed up recently...Can anyone translate if he said anything significant or interesting?

Cheers.

Cool video, I was half expecting him to drop the bike in the rocks on the dirt road. I did that once last year in a rut. I haven't taken it that extreme but pretty close a couple of times.

And that yellow looks awesome, I would love that colour on my V.

Moon Dust Gray Versys, with lots of farkles.

Vlast

P.S. I bought my Versys to support my photography hobby.

I was surprised to see (when his shadow preceded him) that he was NOT up on the 'pegs...!

I've ridden some dirt (roads) on my "V" on OEM type tires, but nothing that gnarly!

I wonder how many crashes they edited out?
You'll notice the bit where he threaded the bike through the tiny gap in the boulders blocking the road has a jump in the footage, probably to conceal some pretty nasty grinding and possibly a drop.

After looking at a couple of other videos there it became obvious that this one is out takes from the official Kawasaki videos.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On48l...eature=related

Same bike, scenary, even some of the same shots. Notice on the official video it says "Versys - for any road" I guess after taking it on that dirt they changed their minds.

Oh yeah. And that was a professional rider?

Can someone explain to me why we don't have this awesome color available in the US? Seriously.....what is Kawasaki thinking?

Yeah, that’s a statistic sample size of 1, category “anecdotal evidence”, but there it is.

Interesting adrenaline filled video! It's blatant that he doesn't own the bike , but it looked fun on those dirt roads. He did a good job not dropping the bike!

He mostly mentions very detailed tech specs (how many pistons the brakes have, how wide the breaks are, how many settings you can adjust the suspension in front and back in etc etc), and what changes they made from the 2009 version. Things like a new rubber mount for the engine and foot pegs for both rider and passenger and new design.

The whole video though is just absurdly badly edited. Whats up with the random shots with music from the official video wrapped with his own shots? Whats up with the bad mic quality in the middle but not in the start? Nevermind, the riding was good at least .

In my opinion, the best choice for non stock tires are Pirelli MT60, in case You want go OFF the road. If You don't stay with stock. Why? On sport max You can do lots of kilometres/miles, and grip is quite good on wet tarmac and even better on the dry. If You want better tire for wet conditions, You should choose Michelin PilotRoad or PilotRoad act2.

Versys is Versatile, so You can use it just like You want and it always be with You

Correct my English if it's very bad See You all somehow, someday and somewhere
