GIVI V47 - Very hard to close

Just installed a V47 top case. Overall quite pleased with the quality, however this thing is a real bear to get closed. It takes several tries and an extreme amount of pressure for the lid to latch, almost to the point that I am concerned the bike is going to fall off the kick stand. This is when the box is empty. Put a few pieces of gear inside and it even harder to close. Is this normal? Does anyone have any similar experience or suggestion on making this box easier to close? Maybe a bad box? Thanks for your insight.

No, my Kappa (cheaper version of Givi) box is easy to close, can be a little tricky but doesn't require pressure to close. Is yours new or second hand?

Check to see if the rubber seal around either the top or bottom part is not binding somewhere, same for the cord or strap that prevents the lid to tip over

Also, if it's bolted ''crooked''', it will be hard to close and putting stuff in it might exagerate the problem

I don't have a top case, but both my V35 Givi are closing like a dream

I have had both Kappa K35 and K46 top cases, which have similar latches. Both closed very easily, except if the cords for the lid got caught in the lip. I would definitely check for that. If you have to force it, either something is between the lid and the case, or they are not lining up correctly.
