Anybody own a Vstrom 650

I was wondering if anybody runs a Wee strom as well as there Versys,
I run.a 2000 KLR for the commute in the winter months and was thinking of a Wee for a bit more comfort
Not sure if it would be apples for apples

I had an '04 wee strom for 6 years and 40k miles. Wee and V are pretty closely matched.

If you don't hit the interstate for you commute the KLR is probably just as good as either of the twins. I prefer my DR for around town/backroads @ speeds up to ~65. High speed/long distance - the faired bikes win, especially in the cold.

My commute is basically what you are saying ,I do like the V twin though, I did have a chance of a new KLR for roughly the same money , but I do not want to ride it in the salt

I have a 2011 Wee and use it more for long distance touring and commute once a week or so to keep it charged etc. To my 5'9", 31" inseam, 170lb. body the Wee is a much more comfortable mount. the foot peg position, seat especially, wind protection, and vibration at highway speeds are better on the Wee. I do ride a 2012 Versys around town and for an 8 mile commute because it steers quicker, accelerates better and is more fun in general. The Versys can be farkled to be a better ride for touring, but I already had the V-Strom.
