I was at work today when a friend came in and said "did you know you have a nail sticking out of your rear tire?", I assumed the worst, and thought ..now I'll have to replace the tire I changed about 2000km ago. Low and behold, here's a 6 inch spike bent into an almost complete circle and speared through the corner of one knob on a shinko 705 dual sport, looking almost like an earring... it did not puncture the carcass, but it was about 2 inches of the point worked through the knob.I just worked it out with plyers and it's good to go.... but I have never seen anything like it!!!!!
I probably would have noticed it when climbing on after work since it was right at 10 o'clock on the right hand side, but the small amount of scuffing on it indicates I hadn't driven very long with it in the tire. Had the tire been flat, I definitely would have noticed....lol
