Late Fall Ride Through WMass

Last Sunday of November turned out to be a great day for a ride. Brilliant sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, temps up near 50...very comfortable with my electrics blazing. With the sun dipping low in the sky along the Connecticut River, I stopped to take a few pictures by a tobacco barn. A couple months ago this barn would have had the doors open and the side slats out (every other board is pushed out at the bottom to promote airflow to dry the tobacco leaves). Connecticut River Valley broad leaf tobacco is used for natural cigar wrappers. The smell of tobacco aging in these barns gives off a lovely aroma...far nicer than tobacco on fire, if you ask me. Great way to wrap up a day of hitting my favorite twisties before the snow flies in the hill towns.

Beautiful pics, love the description as well. The V is not only a good looking bike but a bike that looks ready to be ridden.

Thanks. The two barns shot really speaks to me with the red/white/black scheme working through it.

Got this one just as the sun was dipping below the trees. Looked better in person.

Try using a LITTLE fill flash next time - maybe -1 to -1.5.

Trouble with fill-in flash, even a little, is the reflectors show up brightly. Just doing their job, really. I've got DOT red in the oval space on the panniers where the Givi logo would go, plus the OEM amber.

Would have had more options with my DSLR but I didn't have it with me.

Good eye. Yes, those barns are on 47, a few miles south 116, east side of the road, south of where the tornado took out a tobacco barn last year. I'm from Wilbraham and ride through Ware (where?) all the time. I'm always up for a ride. Sunday afternoons work best this time of year. I'm planning to hit Shelburne Falls for a slice of pie before Jack Frost ends the riding season. My contact info can be accessed through the Reading Material link in my signature.

Bones, good stuff, many Sundays I've put 300-400 miles on the odometer and never left the state.
