2012 Versys for my Yamaha Warrior?

I have a very nicely equipped Yamaha Warrior power cruiser I was considering selling for $5200. A young man has a nice 2012 Versus that is all stock with the exception of some soft luggage. He wants to do a straight across trade.

What do you think of that deal? His is a 2012, mostly stock with 9K miles worth a $5200 trade? There is one little scuff on the right side tank cover piece where it went over once. That's the end of what's wrong with it.

The other trade option is a guy with a green 2009, factory matched hard bags, otherwise stock. He wants to trade me across and give me $500.

I just gave a dealer 4k for my 08 with 7,500 miles on it.
IMHO the trade for the 12 seems a bit high.
If it were me I would see if I could get the guy to come up a bit more on the green one. The hard bags are pricey. It seems like the better deal if you think you may want bags.

You've probably done this, but check the Kelly Blue Book values for comparison? Agree that $5xxx seems a bit high from what I've seen for Versys advertised here.

The '12 is a better bike. The straight swap sounds like a good deal.

Most banks use NadaGuides for loan value. I would check your bike and his value and go from there.

I agree with Walter. If you can trade for the 2012, it would be a win win solution.

For sure check values. It looks like your bike has some addons, but is older judging by the wheels. A guy I know at work had a newer Warrior, I thought it was a very solid bike, and worth more than a Versys. Just my impressions.

I agree. I would go the with the 2012. Maybe work the price of a new side panel into the deal.
