Blue Ridge Ride - Wire Wheels , AV Tires & 44t Sprocket Test

Towed the bike up to Roan Mountain State park and rented cabin for half a week and rode all over the Blue Ridge mountains and up to Little Switzerland. An amazing trip. Next run is all camping with side bags. Finding quality gear like a sleeping bag, tent and fishing pole under 15 inches long was a challenge but can pack for 2 week run now.

Need a 'places to ride' forum.

BEST advice I got (before my first Alaska Highway ride), was to just think of a long trip as a series of THREE day rides. I carry three days worth of grub, and buy more on each third day, and on-and-on. Longest ride (so far) was 31 days, camping EVERY night, cooking 90% of my meals. (The other 10% were eating at places like "Fast Eddy's" in Tok, AK.)

I'm w/ Dave on this one!

I did about the same thing except I was on foot, through hiking the Appalachian Trail. Spent the night at the cabin on top of Roan Mountain.

Adurbin and I are heading to the Blue Ridge parkway this weekend for a 1 night camping trip in Dan, VA. It will be my first time on the BRP, so I'm pretty excited.
