600 mile 1st service

What does it involve?
I am due to get an 09 bike next week from a non Kawa dealer. The V has 120 miles on and I dont want my local Kawa dealer touching it (from past experiences!)

09 V in Black.

Other than an oil and filter change it involves checking tightness of bolts, bearings, cable play, fluid levels, leaks, etc.

Simple stuff.

Thanks......So, does it have to be carried out by a kawa dealer to keep the warranty alive, or could a non Kawa dealer do it without upsetting the warranty?

Kawasaki will tell you that but I have it on very good authority that federal law makes it illegal for them to do so. Your warranty should still be good whether Kawasaki, Yamaha, KTM or your grandmother does the work. You should keep your receipts and maybe a maintenance log but that is just to cover your ass in case they get a case of the stupids.

Mine was 150 bucks. Oil change and "whateverelse". I negotiated paying only 1/2 of first service when I bought motorcycle. So mine ended up being 75 dollars after my previous negotiating.
