This is Gonna sound weird?

I have had my versys for about two months and i recently changed to 43 tooth sprocket and in first gear i could get upto 17-18 MPH (4000-5000rpm) before going to 2nd gear. I went to change my oil last night the very first oil change at 700 miles.

I know that they use some type of oil fro the break in period that is not regular oil for the versys.I used Amsoil 10-40W motorcycle oil and a pure one oil filter and had no problems .When I took it out to the store today i noticed i was getting 21-25MPH(4000-5000RPM).

Does the break in oild cause the engine to loose power or is it my imagination

How is that possible? Did you gear ratio's magically change while at the shop. Think about what you have just said and think about how gears work....
