Mileage on O.E.M rear

Got a left-over '12 last November. Just turned 5,000 miles. I'm headin' to Salt Lake City Wednesday and it looks like the rear will make the 3,000 mile or so round trip. I have a new set of PR4s sitting in the garage but bein' a frugal KLR rider I am reluctant to waste good (or not so good) tires.

What kinda mileage did you get out of your O.E.M. rear?

I replaced mine at about 7500. Had plenty miles left in them but it was squaring off and i didn't like the stock tires anyway so replaced them..

I replaced mine at 10K miles, but only because of a nail.
I wasn't showing much wear at all and probably could have gotten other 5-10K out of them if it wasn't for the puncture.

By memory - my '08 got about 10,000 miles on its rear, while my '09 got 12,035 kms (7,461 miles), but I can't remember HOW "bald" it was.

Just changed them out on my 09, had right around 6,000 miles on them. Probably could have took them another 1,500 to 2,000, but noticed every now an again just the slighest slip in a curve that required some lean to it. I figured for me it was not worth trying to squeeze anymore out of them.
One of the locals at the shop where I got them change was asking the owner.
"Them fit anything I got" So evidently he saw some use left in them. lol

Pr3 set 5048 miles rear tire, wore out sides too soft.

When these wear out will go to a match pr4 set .

I've got 8700 kilometres on mine, should be good to 12,000....lots of tread left. It's true they're not the greatest tires out there, but they work fine for what they are.

Lovin every minute of it!

I had over 11,000 miles on mine, and it looked like it would have gone another 4k if not for the cracks in the carcass.

I had 5000 on mine and could have ran it 500 more. I wish I would have removed it at 5 miles, I didnt realize how horrible the bike handled until I changed it. I put on a shinko 009 which isnt a top of the line tire and its like a different bike. I missed 5000mi of fun.
