I don't care much for the current headlight and I'm not real fond of this new one but, there's a lot more to like than just the headlight and the other improvements are an added plus.

I don't think I LOVE it, but I like it. I don't think I like it better than what I have now. Of course, that may change after seeing it in person.

Pretty much my feelings. The first picture I saw- jaw drop. The Versys looks incredible in black.

But then I saw some photos at an angle, and I didn't like the notches in the front of the faring.

I'm glad I waited until the 2010's came out to make my decision, but I'll be smiling at my green '09 for quite some time.

I would like those mirrors though, which should be an easy enough upgrade.

I like the new mirrors and LED tail light which look to be the same as those on the Z1000. The new mirrors, coupled with the rubber engine mounts, should be more stable, and offer better vibration free (hopefully) vision. The new adjustable windshield also looks to be an improvement. I'm very disappointed it is being offered in back only. Although I like the black panels I nevertheless hate the all black engine and wheels. Much prefer silver. To offer the V in only one color is a big mistake IMHO. The jury is still out on the redesigned radiator shrouds. I'll have to see it in the flesh to decide.. I hope the USA version will offer the handguards, heated grips, power socket and ABS as options, but I can't find any place that says it will - - - and I have serious doubts it will.

I would probably be interested in getting a 2010 if I didn't have my 09 green. I actually like the headlight on my 09 better than the 2010, kinda like the agressive look of the fairing on the 2010, but also like the smoother design of the fairing on my 09, but think i like 2010 windscreen better.

At first I didn't like it, after watching a video of it, i kinda grew into it. So I guess I'll have to see it in flesh.

On a side note, I think you should separate the option "Hate it, wish they left styling alone and bumped performance". Despite the looks, I think they should have bumped performance anyway. Not that I think it lacks anything in terms of performance but since you bother to create an upgrade, why not tweak the motor as well?

The styling changes to the Versys are very much in line with what Kawasaki did to the Ninja 650R. I think it looks a little more aggressive but still retains the overall appeal of the basic shape and concept of the bike. I haven't seen one 'on the floor' yet, but from the pictures I'm very impressed. The only problem is the whole windshield thing is probably starting over from ground zero.....

It is a little more aggressive look IMHO, and I like that.

I think they took an '09 and gave it a severe beating with an ugly stick.

I’ve only just discovered the Versys in the past month or so and quickly became a big fan. I’m really glad I haven’t been more impulsive and bought a 2009, though, because I think the 2010 is a big improvement stylistically. I never did love the front end, but I genuinely do like the front of the 2010. It’s more unique than the typical classic circular headlight (like on the SV650 or monster), but it’s not all wild and futuristic looking either. Maybe I’ve got an overactive imagination, but to me the headlights actually look a little retro and the way they’re squared off remind me of tractor trailer headlights like this: http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pi..._9000_1985.jpg
Anyway, I like it a lot. But, yeah, what’s up with no ABS in the US? How hard can it be to also offer it here when it's being offered elsewhere?

The new 2010 looks good but I'm satisfied with my 2008 V.
If there's going to be a liter V, then that's something else.

Yeah the 2010 got a nice, although partial restyling. My 2007 is just as functional, so I'll wait for the real engine/chassis/suspension evolution, maybe for 2013 or 2014...

have to see it in person but i think that i will like it but given the changes there is no real incentive to trade up to the new one. the changes are small at best it seems.

It was MOTY in 2008, how could they mess with that? Now it looks like something else. Painting the panels different colors is wrong, make is look plastic(which it is) and cheap.
Blacking out was ok except for the wheels. Need to offer variety in America!
