Speedometer housing surround cracked

Hairline crack appeared just above the headlight, cosmetic problem, but wondering if it will get worse, so I called my dealer. He said bring it in, they will dissemble, send the part in and maybe it will be covered. Hardly worth the down time. Anybody else had any similar cracking of the housings or other plastics?

First time I hear of this... Was it parked out in the searing southern sun in 110+ degrees much?

From the UK Versys forum:
"The main concern is the Givi warning about the screen shape acting like a magnifying glass and concentrating the rays to an extent they can cause fires and damage.
Can this happen?
Do I really need to cover the screen when parked in the Sun?
Or are Givi covering them self from law suits."

Do you have the stock windcreen, Element?

Housing was only scratched, after further investigation.
