I guess a bike is worth whatever someone will pay for it. but if Im paying anywhere near bluebook or nada --then im probably going to feel like I got a screwin.----my 08 showed over $5500 nada-- when I bought it last fall-(5500 miles)- I gave $3800, and felt like I paid at least $300 too much after seeing what bikes were selling for on this forum. I didn't think to check here first. it was a spur of the moment type deal.

I paid a $3500 for my 2011 with only 1384 miles on it needed a little work
Here are the items that would be need to make it perfect new foot peg bracket, right upper fairing , radiator cover and the black plastic cover below the tank

What I did paid local welder to reweld the foot beg bracket $30
Took stickers off fairings got rid of most of the scratches that where just in the sticker
Sanded out scratches in radiator cover then used Black plastic dip to cover up the missing paint from sanding , also used it on the other side as well easy to remove just peal it off when you want to change color.
Put Velcro on the black plastic piece to keep it from vibrating as one mounting tab was broken off.
And that was it . been riding the wheels off the thing since
Bought in august 6 with 1384 now over 13,000 miles on march 13

Its a spray or dip for tool handles
Yes I did it my self Figured since the the part was already shot, I would give it a try on it
http://www.plastidip.com/

look at these videos for ideas
You can get the spray in multiple colors
Spray on and gives a rubbery mate finish Looks like the black plastic exhaust guard on the versys. when you dont like the color just peel it off with out hurting the paint below
Started out with people blacking out the chrome emblems on there cars and went crazy from there
this is the basic
