New V pricing ?, considering buying one

What do ya'll think about the ebay ads for new 2009 V's for OTD at about $5700? That does not include sales tax, which I would pay 8% when I register here. Those are straight up good bikes? No funny stuff? I read something similar to this on another brand where maybe the warranties were cut short or such.

Are there any dealers in the mid or south US having blowout sales like this? The only ones I see are way up north. My dealer here has had the same two 09's for $7099 forever and at last conversation, won't drop.

I just sold my 06 Tiger for a number of reasons. The V is at the top of the list right now. Preferably a used one, but pricing here and elsewhere is very close (or more) than these new ones on ebay.

Anywhere else I need to check?

Odd they call it an OTD price but it does not include all cost. Thats a good proce for sure if there is no funny business. They are $7099 here. The ER6N is really cheap right now though ($6000 OTD which includes registration $250ish and 9% tax). It has me thinking.........

I'm curious what difference you perceive between the er6n and the versys that would make you jump ship. (sorry for the thread jack). It would be helpful to search ebay for slightly used bikes too.

I just won an auction for an 09 vulcan 500 with 200 miles for $3k. just have to go pick it up 3 or 4 states away this weekend.

No one said anything about jumping ship.... I would be adding to the fleet (well replacing the Ninja 250).

5,790 + 8% tax + 500 delivery to your state = $6753 at your door. Looks like a decent price to me. However, I would pay the extra $300 for a local deal.

Most dealers in VA are advertising 5900.00 Loudoun Motor Sports and Valley Cycle are both pretty close to the same price. I got my 09 for 6650.00 OTD. The guy that is asking more then 7 grand is smoking crack:-)

Consider this:

Burgman™ 650 Exec
MSRP $9,799.00*
Our Price $9,399.00* Burgman™ 650
MSRP $8,699.00*
Our Price $8,299.00* Burgman™ 400 ABS
MSRP $7,099.00* Burgman™ 400
MSRP $6,599.00*
Our Price $6,299.00*

Nearly 10 grand for a 650 cc scooter. Wouldn't you rather ride a KLE?

There are many in my area at below $6K excluding taxes and state fees. Tell the $7099 guy you want to buy from him. Let him come down. No way you should pay full price on the 09. 2010's will hit inventory in 2 months.

If you pay my return plane ticket I'll deliver one to you! Have to wait till mid October though. It'll only have 2300 on the odo. 600 break in miles plus the 1700 to ride there ;-)

Not sure where you are in the South, but check Cycle Trader. There are two dealers just north of Dallas (Denton, TX and Sherman, TX) who are advertising the V for edither$5899 or $5799. There are also some dealers in Houston, and elsewhere in Texas offering the same. Good Luck

Kawa has a $500 rebate on the 2009 Versys, bringing it down to $6599. That's the price I am getting it at, picking one up on Saturday.

Also, just curious....

Why are you getting rid of the Tiger? That would be a step up power-wise from the Versys. I looked at a few and was interested until I saw the price....
