Stayed at work a little too long tonight

I rode into work today. Nice sunny mild day in Denver, temps were in the high 30s on the morning and near 60 at lunch.

Afternoon work turned into evening work. Then I looked outside around 830 and did not like what I saw. Windy, blowing snow, temp in the mid-30s - and still had a couple of hours of work left to go.

So I started the bike and parked it in the CEO's parking spot in the basement.

Weather's supposed to be better on Friday

Yeah, you waited a little too long. Riding in the cold is one thing, but in snow and wet, quite another.

I was on a ride a few years ago where the top of the mountain was covered with snow, including the roads. I had gone so far to get there, I continued on over the top. I didn't like it, but it was ok. I was very careful. I wondered what the people up there thought when they saw me riding past them.

I hope the ride Friday works out for you.

Well played my friend . . .

Did the CEO give you a day off for being such a devoted employee?

Cheers!

No day off, but I seem to working fewer long days this year than in the past. That might be related to selling our Australian ops in 2013, so we now only have one operating property and getting financial numbers and support for filings is way easier

CEO travels a lot, so I have no problems with his office hours when he is here.

I've done that a few times, but never with snow (Texas). Ride to work on a beautiful day, get out to cold, wet seat.

Shhh! Don't tell anyone, but it really doesn't snow all that much in Denver, and it does not stick around long.

Longer story on why I rode the bike to work:
I have a 1999 Isuzu Amigo that I've had since new and put a lot of hard miles on, wheeling in the Colorado mountains and in Moab. I don't drive it much, but I thought I would treat it to a nice change of pace and take it to work... It quit running halfway to the office. By the time the tow truck picked me up and dropped the Amigo and me back at the house, it was close to 50 degrees so I just hopped on the bike without thinking about the chance of the weather changing

Accounting - year end close/reporting is always a bear, especially in a smaller company with few employees to spread the workload. Other times of the year are not as bad. Would be even better if the price of gold would head back up.

I carry mail near you in Aurora. I remember wishing mid-day that I had rode in on my V. About 3PM the temps dropped from the 60s into the 30s, and I was glad I hadn't!
