Or at least a year old new model. I paid $6999 + $260 (DMV fees) for my 2012 in December 2012.

Looking for ABS so that means '14.

Just wondering if I have any negotiating power on a '14 in February?

List is $7,999.

Not really. The place I got my bike from had 2013's already, I tried to get some kind of break on one of those, no deal. Kawasaki gives dealers incentives to get rid of older bikes. As much as I enjoy my Versys, if I were currently in the market, I'd really have to look at a new 2012-13 Ninja 650. I've seen several places with those on sale for $4899 (or $2000 less than a 2012 Versys).

ABS is nice, not sure it's worth $1000-$1700.

February SHOULD do it, IF the dealer's a bit 'hungry'....

Older V's with ABS

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't some of the earlier V's have abs, say in 2009 or 10?

Not in the U.S. 2014 is the first model here with ABS.

I was going to go this route as well, but got a great deal on an 08. Decided I'd jump on and see how I like the bike for a while. If I'm still in love with it in a couple of years, I'll get a used 14' with ABS.
