You said it, that was eligible for the Darwin awards. What usually happens is you get swept down, wedged under a branch, and are unable to move. Dead is what happens next.

Chuck told me that a Versys can do it !

With a crossing that wide there was bound to be no road underneath - washouts are what stops crossings.
It is not how high the water has risen, but the depth you cannot always see.
