Ebay Crazyness

I ordered a Zero Gravity Sport Touring windshield for my Z off ebay recently and expected it in this past week. Now I've been buying and selling on ebay since 2000 with very few problems to speak of, but this one is a first. The package comes in when I'm at work so it never got delivered and I checked the tracking number and it says "Available for Pick-Up" on the status at USPS.com but I never got a card in my box? So yesterday I had my son go to the Post Office to pick it up for me. No problem, right?
WELL he gets there and they say it is POSTAGE DUE, a whopping $45.70! WHAT?? There must be some mistake. How in the world can a package travel from the Lower 48 all the way up to Alaska and be missing that much postage. Needless to say, it's still at the post office and I have a NICE message to the seller (who will remain nameless until this gets resolved) They have a 99+% posative feedback rating, the shipping costs were clearly stated, and the auction said NOTHING about any postage due bologna So their reply should be quite entertaining...

Those ZG's are made in SoCal...so it shouldn't have been shipped from Nepal via ShepaPost.

Someday is not a day of the week.

The good news is you picked a nice windshield. If you plan to use it with Zeta handguards you may find the necessity to modify the sides of the shield to accommodate the handguard at full steer. I did it to mine with a hacksaw and a dremel. Took my time and it was easy enough...

It does look like a good product. yet to bee seen IF I will actually be able to work out the shipping challenge with the seller. I've got the Cycra CRM probend guards so I'm hopefull they will fit with little dremel work. Since I have ridden a 26 year old thumper for the last 3 years I have become quite skilled at modifying things to fit my needs

sounds like my ram mount cup holder. auction was free shipping. Postage due $3.01 I paid it just so I could mount it on my bike. Contacted seller told them I wanted My money back for postage. I was refunded the money no problem. Glad mine was not as bad as yours. also this was last week as well.

No customs fees.......believe it or not Alaska is one of the 50 United States and it was mailed using the US postal system.

Update: After contacting the seller and the post office it seems there were TWO mistakes made. Neithr of them mine BUT I was left hoding the bill for postage. I'm having the post office send it back to the seller and they will be re-shipping it ro me. Seems their shipping software which is SUPPOSED to choose the cheapest shipping method glitched and sent it 3 Day Priority and never calculated the proper price for that. Then the Post office that it was dropped off at did not notice the discrepency in postage and sent it on it's way. When it arrived in my little town Post Office the ever observant postal employees noticed that it wasn't priced right and decided to investigate the postage further................ Who would have thought Anyway, I should be recieving another from the seller sometime soon. I'm SURE it won't be sent 3 day Priority this time.

So, USPS will save a lot of money and time by shipping it back, and having another one reshipped in the proper manner... Having you keep the one already shipped and adjusting the charge is just way too complex and not worth all the hassle.
