update on the new tires and 43

just installed the new dunlop road smarts and replaced the rear sprocket to a 43t....all i can say is wow, a totally different bike.

the only problem with the 43t is your will end up going faster than you think, interstate cruising around 85 is wonderful, rpm's are in the perfect range and -0- vibration.

the new road smarts ride better than the stockers, even though there might be a better tire available, the road smarts i cant find a flaw.

dont worry about 1st gear take offs with the new 43, bike takes off just like it did with the 46 but you wont have to change gears as quick

if you ride mostly on the interstate or back roads the 43 rear sprocket works perfect, i rode about 200 miles yesterday on all kinds of roads and felt like i was on a different bike

a little over 5k on the stockers,, probably could have gone a little further but the rear tire was getting a flat spot in the center, just didnt feel safe in certain situations..

another thing i did...AMSOIL 10W/40...synthetic......motor is smoother, shifts better...of course im running AMSOIL 0W/20 in my tundra, but with all these changes i made its like i have a new bike........probably not going the IXIL exhaust now.....bike runs too perfect...

That is what I will be changing to next week, Amsoil 10W-40.
Thanks for the update on the new stuff, just confirms what I intend to do.

Hey C-C, did you have to shorten the chain any, or was there enough adjustment for the chain? Just wondering if you cut out any links.
