Already Planning for Spring New England Ride

Winter just got here in NJ, and I am missing my V terribly already... It's going to be a long winter! In spite of this thought, I am already planning to ride to New England early Spring 2014; perhaps to Vermont and New Hampshire.

I have not been to Vermont (by car) in a long time and never on bike. I ask you those who have ridden to the region for tips such as which scenic roads to take from So VT on... I remember Rte 100 and Rte 7 in lower Vermont have some nice stretches.

Thanks in advance. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Don't remember if VT or NH but you can ride to the top of Mt. Washington.

From NJ, I've taken the thruway to Poughkeepsie, then cut over to Rt. 44 to Rt. 22. Rt. 22 to Rt 7/9, which takes you into Bennington, VT. From there, Rt. 100 north. Some fun roads in VT just north of the Killington area include Rts. 73, 125, and 17.

Rt. 103 is nice, too. Over to Quechee Gorge is also good, albeit a bit touristy.

Rt. 108 up and over Stowe is challenging.

I've also traveled up further north to the Burlington area, and ridden over to the Lake Champlain isles.
