Givi V46 - What do I need?

What do I need to mount the V46? Topcase only for this bike I think...

You can buy a couple different options. I have the sw motech alurack.this is the same as the kawai oem rear rack...just less money (from twisted throttle.com) with this rack you can add side racks at a later date if you wish.(kawi factory rack you can only use rear rack or side ones , not usable together....Bad marketing!!. or you can buy a givi rack from givi. which has the same add on side rack option. I like sw motechs rear rack. works great! easy install (be sure to use loctite!! I didn't and lost a screw) they have a quick release option. the racks come off in seconds. very sturdy/ little noise if any I have the v46 and I just bought e21's for the sw motech quick release sides. I originally thought I would only want a trunk....that opinion will quickly change my friend....buy the motech or the givi so you have the option!!! I would stay away from the oem!

if it were easy....everyone would do it!

The SW Motech trunk rack is not quick release....only the side racks are.

So the SW-Motech accepts an additional rack for side cases? Is it two racks or one?

I already have V46 topcase and E21 side cases for the KLR...

That might be good to know even though I'm trying to keep the Versys sorta naked...

No. the sw motech rear rack can be used with the sw motech side racks. (2 separate racks )the kawai oem racks you can only use one or the other. as far as the rear rack smurf you are correct . you need to buy an alurack adapterplate for givi bags (also on twisted throttle) THIS piece is a quick release of the rear rack so you can have clean lines if you dont what the trunk adapter plate on.

if it were easy....everyone would do it!

Thanks, Jimmyjam. Damn they want a lot of money for those side case racks. And the damned Givi puck.

Pardon my French... they just get ya coming and going...

Do you have a pic of your bike with the three cases on it?

Here is my shopping list:
Ordered: 1 Shipped: 1 GPT.00.152.405 SW-MOTECH Alu-Rack Topcase Adapter Plate (GIVI / Kappa Monokey) $35.00
Ordered: 1 Shipped: 1 Givi V46.A900 Givi V46 Monokey Topcase (ea) - 46 liters/case $279.00
Ordered: 1 Shipped: 1 Givi V35.A900 Givi V35 PLX Sidecases/Saddlebags (pair) - 35 liters/case $529.20
Ordered: 1 Shipped: 1 KFT.08.603.150 SW-MOTECH Quick-Lock Sidecarrier (Kawasaki Versys 650, '07-) Contour Carrier for Givi V35 PLX cases $229.99
Ordered: 1 Shipped: 1 GPT.08.391.100/B_r01 SW-MOTECH Alu-Rack Toprack (Kawasaki Versys 650, '07-) for Givi, TraX ALU-BOX, & Krauser topcases $149.99

Thanks, those do look good. I know the V35's look better, IMHO, but I think I only paid $180 for the E21's.... and I like 'em. $529 for the V35's Ouch!

Big diff in price.

Yea i was orginally going with the E21's - but wife said i could by bags if i wanted, and when she gave me the OK for $1000, i bought them that night.
She doesn't know it was closer to $1300

You've got to keep a little stashed away for your farkeling. Now if there was such a thing as Ross or Steinmart for motorcycles. I could come home everyday saying "Look, these were 90% off, and this was 75% percent off" Wither i needed it or not.

Oh, I hear you. I went for the E21's because that's all I need for everyday use. I plan on putting a set of E41's in the garage eventually for touring use (they mount on the same rack).

thanks for putting up the pic smurf. I am in the same boat.the e21 and v46 work perfect for commuting. I can fit work stuff, boxing gloves in the trunk. rain gear is on side boots in the other...now for a helmet gaurdian...helmet lock should be standard on ALL bikes! I was going to do the v35's...they just look sooo big in person. preference i suppose. as far as cost..Yes the stuff is expensive ,its painful when the racks cost more than the bags!! ..good stuff though.

if it were easy....everyone would do it!
