My New Versys

Last thursday I was able to take delivery of my brand new Versys 650
The dealer says due to it being an L model (LAMS in Australia, Restricted Output, can be removed) they only do 1 shipment to Australia per year (or to Melbourne) its 2012 built, 2013 compliance, a little bit miffed but I can sell it as 2013 if I ever choose to do so.

Can't really add any modifications until after Christmas due to finances, But I plan to add Crash Bars, Radiator Guard, Barkbusters, 12v Sockets (with FuzeBlock), Daytime Running Lights, Rear Hugger and GPS Mount.

One thing I am debating is whether to keep the colour or not, I am still not sure about it. Either respray the tank, front fender and rear hugger when I get one and the Side fairings black. Or just add touches of colour with braided hoses, keyless gas cap, rim tape, respray shock? Ideas?

I have one that color, USA '12. No ABS. So far I have installed Galfer stainless brake lines on front, 16T O.E.M. front sprocket, Koaka throttle lock, Evotech tail tidy, Zero Gravity wind screen, Grab-on foam grips and some Silverstar Ultra headlight bulbs. Oh yeah, Speed bleeders.

God that brown is vomit inducing, sorry man but that's my opinion. Great bike never the less. Whenever you get your full licence let me know and I'll show you how to remove the restrictions.

On one hand the brown is unusual (how many other factory brown bikes can you name?), on the other hand, there's probably a reason brown isn't a real popular color for a bike.

In these pictures the color kinda looks like a dark brownish grey, other pictures I've seen of this color it just looks brown, is that accurate?

Dont pay attention to trolls.

Only seen brown on honda varadero, which btw seem like a nice bike too. But the color combo on versys looks better.

Congrads on the purchase! Beautiful machine! that ABS sticker creates a topic of envy in my mind

Enjoy your new ride! Customizing gets addictive, so get ready to spend twice what you think your going to invest in getting it to match your taste. I've already spent over $1,000 US in aftermarket farkles. Oh well.... it's fun to make it just right.

So, if the owner of the V comments on his uncertainty about the colour of his bike, and two members say they don't like the colour, explain just exactly how our comments are a "troll"?

I'm not a troll I am voicing my opinion as previously stated. Just because my opinion is different from someone else doesn't make me a troll.

Oops, sorry, I was just trying to make a joke that I don't think came through over the internet. Calling someone a "troll" when they give a solicited opinion is weak.

OK, what about Grand Exalted Troll from Down Under? J.k. I don't think you're a troll for voicing your opinion. It's 'how you say it' that sparks negative or positive reactions. Unless I'm angry or intoxicated I filter everything, why because (most of the time) I'm a thinking human being, I live and choose to interact in a society where the norm is to play nice and respect others. Most social hangouts (including these forums) are built to be helpful and fun. I don't know of any mainstream club or cyber hole where negativity won't be checked or addressed in some way. Children, old folks, mentals and those who can't or won't are the ones that usually 'tell it like it is' or 'say what's on their mind'. Thinking and extrapolating information is not easy, especially in a fast pace global / social environment. What you do and say these days is kind of like the stock market; "invest wisely", oh - there's also that karma thing going on that some people believe in.

No because of the words choosed when expressing the opinions, kinda looked like troll typing. There really should be some troll emoticons to use.
