Im really interested in the upgrades on the Ninja 1000, might trade mine up as it has traction control as my 2011 ninja stepped out at rear the other day due to putting to much gas coming out of a hairpin corner. http://www.cycleworld.com/2013/10/02...review-photos/

I don't think I've ever seen a Z1000 on the streets.. always figured it was one of those "fun to ride but don't let your friends see you on her" kinda bikes, so it'd disappear from the US market like the ER6n. Now the new Ninja 1000.. my next bike for sure.

What is with Kawasaki and that awful bar graph tachometer? STOP IT. Deal killer for me and I didn't even get to the front yet.

I wanna like it...I do. But even after going to the website and watching the full video, the front cowling is just too low. It's like someone stepped on the head of a pit viper.

In NZ the Ninja 1000 is called Z1000SX and the naked version is the Z1000, ive done 20,000km on the ninja or z1000sx and she is a great bike to ride but still need the airhawk for longer rides.

I demo'd a 2012. Great fun but those things only get around 32 MPG (Z1000). Bad enough especially with only a 4 gallon tank. Another deal killer.

The Ninja or z1000sx has a 19 litre fuel tank, depending on how hard I run her fuel starts flashing between 250 to 280km and best ive got out of a tank being thrifty is 320km (does not happen that much)

Always had a casual interest in the Z1000 but I already have 1250 Bandit so that kept me from seriously seeking out another large displacement bike.

I can appreciate something new with the styling up front, but then they should have done something with the signal stalks. Looks like they simply retained the old ones and they look 'tacked on' as a result. I also think the burnt orange color they used a couple years ago would look better.

I agree manufacturers need to stop with the digital tach, I just dislike them.

I too was interested in the new Z1000 but the poor MPG and small tank put me off. Besides I was just searching for a lost love anyway. I just rekindled that love by buying another ZRX . I had a green '02 but I just bought a mint low mile '04 in red. I firmly believe the ZRX1200R is the best bike ever made. And I'm not wrong.

THAT Z1000 looks (to ME...) like one of those 'Transformers' my kids used to play with.
