Just installed mine yesterday.

The included instructions are not much good except for determining which side the parts go on. Leave everything loose until it is all mounted. And yes, pull the plastics.

well, I wont say it was a fun job, because I had to go to lowes and get thinner locknuts for the front mounting bolts --the ones that fit into the engine casting---other than that I had no problems, I didn't take any plastic off, I did remove one small allen head screw on each side to give my socket more clearance on the forward mounts. still, it took a good 45 minutes.wasnt in no hurry though---

That's odd. The nuts supplied worked fine for me. Highway pegs are next. I would like to see what others have used.

it was very close to working with the locknuts they sent me, probably less than 1/8 inch too thick, I read here some others had a similar problem.---just ordered the sw motech skid plate from t.t. it doesn't take long to dump a bunch of money into this bike. I got the barkbusters and the pyramid rear fender and front fender extension too. all from t.t. want a better seat, if I ever figure out which one to get.-----

if you look just below the sw motech nametag in either photo that I posted, that is the little screw I removed so I could push the plastic aside just enough for a socket to go on the front bolts. I didn't remove any of the plastic---

I just installed the crashbars on my 13 V the other day. Only help I needed was my gf held another rachet for the main rear bolt so I could loosen/tighten it. Got it done in 30min start to finish. All nuts/bolts were fine and worked great. No vibration issues like others said. No extra pieces or parts needed. Only plastic needed to remove are the side pieces that stick out, dont need to take off the painted tank covers.
