Happens everywhere! I ran into a group of motorcycle police on hondas who were having their break at a starbucks. I came out and jumped at 4 cops surrounding my bike. Then they just wanted to know who made it, as it was debadged. The stares are great!

hmmm

Up in Cruiserland (Maine) I don't think my bike gets a second look. In the twelve months I've owned my bike.. two people have complimented me on it. I attended the Whitehorse Gear open house in May... Out of all the bikes there (Hundreds)... I had the only Versys... I think the Bike's popularity is regional. All I really care is that I LIKE my VERSYS!

I get a lot of looks and compliments from non-motorcyclest. It's a good looking bike with great design.

To God be the glory.

I would have to say the most common comment I get is that it is sooo ugly. They just dont appreciate the uniqueness of the Versys. But it does get alot of looks. I love it and thats all that matters.

I get alot of complements from other bikers and a few non-bikers. The most common question from the bikers is "Hmmm, so... what's it for?" That's when I do my best Barney Fife imitation, and hike up my belt, sniff, and say "There are some that call this the new standard UJM, or an adventure tourer, commuter, or a light sport-tourer, ...but I use it for urban assault, mainly." Then I just stare in their general direction. ;o)

A lot of people are intrigued by the Versys...many will ask "What is that?"

However, just two days ago as I was pulling my Versys out of the garage, my wife stands and looks at it, then says, "Gee, I think that bike looks a lot like a scooter." HUH??? Never heard that before.

A scooter, that's harsh words. You should send her to her room to think about what she has said..

I ride with a couple of Harley boys that just do not know what to say about my V. They like to spread rice around it once in a while for fun.

But when we pull into the gas station, no more remarks. We rode 500 miles a couple weekends ago and at least my bike was not falling apart, one of the boys lost his foot rest.

At MT Rainier NP the other day I had tow guys, one of which rides a BMW, arguing over whether the V was a BMW or a Ducati. I took that as quite the compliment.
