2009 Kawa Green Versys
My journey is a long one starting 7 years ago in 2002. I bought a brand new red Suzuki Katana 650 that year with matching helmet and all the goodies. I turned 30 that year and my dream was to own a motorcycle that year and I did. I got it on a don't pay for 6 months plan.
Before my first payment, a guy in an SUV turned left in front of me and the Katana was written off. I sustained a number of strains and bruises including injuries to both arms, but survived and walked away pretty healthy. I was lucky to be wearing full gear and hitting an SUV where the impact was distributed to my whole body.
On any account, I got myself onto a 1983 Honda Nighthawk 550 that same year to get back on the horse. But I found myself wanting a different bike and the bike sat idle most days.
3 years ago, I figured I could trade in the Nighthawk or sell it and upgrade. In my infinite wisdom, I made a terrible trade for a 1983 Kawa GPZ-750 that was a total lemon and "self-fixed" by the guy that traded it to me. My bad, my fault. The bike was in the shop for 2 years, $500 here, $500 there and I was all in. The bike is running but not great and now has too much history. I just can't enjoy the bike.
Today, I just rode home my new 2009 Kawasaki Versys...in the lime green. It's awesome. I'm back to riding. I've ordered a larger shield and side bags. I can't wait to ride this thing every day of the summer.
And I found this forum! Cool! So...hello everyone!
