How to Determine Value for Used Versys

Hello Everyone,

I'm a long-time lurker and first time poster. I live in the U.S. and I have a 2008 Versys with about about 800 miles in excellent condition. I'm thinking of selling it to pay for some work on the house. Are there any good resources available to determine a fair asking price for the bike? I've looked at eBay and the completed transaction prices seem very low. The classified section on the kawasakiversys.com forums have bikes listed at a higher price. I don't want to be greedy, but also don't want to give the bike away...just trying to determine a fair price.

I'd appreciate any insight you guys may have. Thanks.

I bought a used 2008 Versys with 600 miles for $5350. I had to drive 120 miles to get it. I soon found out I could have had a new 2008 for $5500 OTD in Iowa (300 mile drive). Dealers in my area are advertising 2009s for $6k.

So I would say low $5K range is fair. That said, if you cant sell it for that price your asking too much!

I got an 08 about two months ago with 1100 miles, Versys low gel seat, Versys hard side cases and Vario windshield for $6500 OTD from a local dealer (list price was $5,600). It included 45 day warranty from the dealer. I've seen plain vanilla used under 2K miles going for about $5600 in craigslist in CO.

I believe that where you are located has a bearing on what your bike will resale for. I bought a 08 with 5500 miles for $5500 and considered that a good price. Centeral Arkansas
