Hooligan!

So I took my windscreen and tank bag off today and went for a spirited ride on my own....what a blast!!!!

Not sure why, but every time I ride the bike "naked" I feel like the bike has about 50% more power and agility! What's up with that?

Lovin every minute of it!

Annnnnnd, I bet you had nice clean air last, and no wind noise too!

Ya, no wind noise, it's a nice way to ride if you're just ripping around for a couple hours.

Any serious milage and the screen and earplugs come on.

Lovin every minute of it!

I did the same thing, over the weekend! I removed the windscreen brackets, too. The ride is much quieter.

There's a problem, though: With the brackets removed, there are holes in the cowling where rain can get in. I got a school binder with a thick, flexible, black plastic cover, and I'll see if I can cut it into a shape that allows me to install it under the cowling and tuck it under the left and right front fairing pieces.

I don't know what it is, but riding without the windscreen and tank bag feels more bad-ass and I feel closer to the road. And the Versys looks nice without the windscreen and brackets -- it looks more masculine, more aggressive.

Naked

I agree riding naked things seem more fast and aggressive. Could be my naked bike is a FZ1 with around 160 ponies.

I suspect that the bigger windscreens really add a lot of resistance especially at speed. I'll have to try the "naked" approach one day and see how it does, especially just tooling around town.
