I've used MotionX Drive on my iPhone, switching from a Garmin 760 that finally died of old age. It's pretty slick. Not sure it's rugged enough for moto use, and gloves would not work very well. If I won the lottery, I'd go with a Garmin Montana....

Someday is not a day of the week.

I use Google maps on my iPhone and listen to the instructions through the Scala Rider. The biggest problem is that unless the maps are downloaded, in areas with no 3G coverage the rOute can't be visualized or altered. I those cases a GPS is a better option.

Any problem with the heat and the sun light reflecting? The only time I used the phone attached I couldn't see the screen during the day, was pretty much useless.

I also use MotionX Drive and my iphone 5 has 4 different navigation apps on it now. Since I haven't won that lottery, I enjoy getting some return on my phone investment by not buying other devices like cameras and gps units. The smart phone has done some of that already. You also don't have to pack as much stuff for the long trips. When I went with the smart phone my service cost doubled so it remains to be seen if I will really save any money in the long term?
Like Murquiza says, with no cell coverage the gps must have maps previously downloaded, but it will work in the boonies.

Jailbreak/Jailbroken?

What is this terminology? How does one obtain equipment thus...equipped? I presume it to be from a market in a dark shade of black, or at least gray...
