That's too bulky looking for me. If they make a 1000, I'd like to see them keep it as close to the 650 in appearance. Something lean, light & fun. Apilia killer!

I think Kawasaki should make a 800-900 cc versys.... better power and cheaper to insure than the 1000cc

This is why we don't have many decent 650cc bikes in North America. Have to amp it up to satisfy consumer demands for big cc bikes. This is a fine bike the way it is.

that first red an black pic just doesn't keep the distinctive look of the V.

I like the look of the 650cc much MUCH more

Versys 1000

I agree with Ocean, why do you guys need bigger balls? So you can go faster in a straight line? You're missing the "meaning of life"!!!

The Versys 650 is a GREAT bike exactly as it is.

Just my 02c.

Both of those pictures are not of a 1000cc Versys. The first one is a good Photoshop of various Kawasaki bikes (some say wishful thinking, others say nightmares... ). The second one is a 650 Photoshoped in different color. I haven't seen credible evidence of this 1000cc Versys yet.

The next person that tells me that I'm going to want a litre bike someday is going to get kicked in the junk.

Shard - I agree with you completely. You don't need a litre bike to carve the perfect corner and that's where nirvahna on a bike resides.

I agree fellas. Even MotoGP went to 800cc. Lap times are the same, if not faster. Besides, those people arguing for literbikes obviously haven't looked at the diff in insurance rates. I'm paying $320.00 a year for my Versys. Some dumasses with the big crotch rockets, pay that in 2 months for insurance.

I pay $1000 per year on insurance in Ontario, Canada. And that is with a good driving record and both Basic and Advanced rider courses completed. Think of the farkles I could buy if I paid $320 a year!

Even if I could get insurance on a litre bike for $200 dollars a year I still wouldn't be tempted. It's just not where I find my peace when I ride.

I agree with you both. Some of us may like a little bit more power but I couldn't see needing to change this bike much. I'm more than happy with the power the bike puts out (and I'm coming off an '05 636 Ninja).

I'd be afraid bumping it up to 1000cc would bring the weight up and that would ruin the part I like most about the bike, the light weight and flickability.

I have ridden many different kind of bikes with different CCs...

Personally, I think 1000cc sport bike are nice but way too powerful... 600cc are good but need a little more power... 700 to 800 will be best...

If Versys is available in three model, 1000cc, 800cc and 650... I will go with 800cc...

If Versys is available in 1000cc and 650cc... Well, it depends on the price... I will probably go with 650cc... cheaper to buy, insure and 650 get better MPG...

More power is always good, but when it come time to buy... Many factors will be considered.

I agree with gustavo. The pillion, forks and exhaust look like they have been derived from the kawasaki z1000 available in the states.
