future versys owner, 3 questions

Ive done some searches on here, and google, but came up empty.
Im assuming the versys has a metal fuel tank, yes?
Is the fuel mapping smooth down low, without out surging mid range? Will I be needing a P. Commander?
I ask because my Ducati had horrid fuel mapping (PCIII made it a little better), and warping plastic fuel tank. 2 things I would never want to deal with, with any future bike.

I think there's a lot of things you won't be missing about your Duc.
The Versys is very easy to live with.

Welcome. At a restaurant where riders go, a guy was out looking at my bike when I was returning to it. He asked what it was (the previous owner debadged it so there's no Kawasaki on it). I said it was a Kawasaki Versys which he said it was new to him. I said to think of it as a poor man's Multistrada. He laughed and told me no, it's more likely a smart man's Multistrada and he went on to tell me tales of woe about getting Ducks fixed and running right.

Just to say that a Versys is easy to live with and great fun to ride.

I had a Buell and know your pain on mapping. Surging and heat were a big pain. Happily I can say the Versys mapping is spot on to me. And yea a steel tank.

I think you'll find the trade offs for less overall power and the loss of the Sexy Duck looks are made for by simple ride-ability ease maintenance and the jingle in your pocket after you go to the dealer to pick up a part!

I think you'll like it here and your new bike.

Or was that look THEN leap?
