“Versatile System” or Vertex (apex) System?

Ola All,
Just got back from a Lovely ride down to La Perouse, (bear island, from Mission Impossible 2 fame) here in Sydney, Australia and while dinner was cooking, I logged on to the global/Japanese website and noticed that the name for 'Versys' is apparently from Vertex and System.
so the question is did they change it for the American, and Australian market or did we all just assume that the 'Ver' part meant Versatile?

Sounds like something was lost in translation. I certainly have always read Versatile System, and frankly, I'm sticking with it! Vertex System just doesn't make any sense. It is quite common in Japan that things are lost in translation. Anyone who has been there can confirm that. Hotel brochures, menus, billboard adds, signs etc in English are commonly mistranslated and make for funny travel stories!

Hopefully that's the case here.
