Ordering bags from dealer.

Anybody out there ever order the Kawasaki bags for their Versys?

I had the dealer put them in my new bike purchase along with the color matched inserts for the bags.

My real question is "was this a good idea?"

During the sale period he said he could get any Kawasaki Accessory in 2 days.

Its been 2 weeks. Went back to check the status and got a shoulder shrug. He checked the web site and got no info other than back ordered.

I can get the V35s from Twisted Throttle in 4 days.

I've heard more stories about delays ordering from the dealer than I have about prompt delivery. I went with TT for the Givis and SW Motech hw.

Btw, what was that soft bag you had on the back in your St Patty picture?

Do you already have the racks?? If not, I'd be tempted to go with the E41 sidebags (with the SW-Motech racks) for about the same amount of money. That would give you the option of mounting up smaller bags like the E21 in the future if you wanted. If you go with the V35 bag, you're stuck with it unless you change the racks too....

I have the kawi top box. Not great quality. I think you can do better by looking around a bit. Buy the Givi or Shad and pay the same, maybe less.

That is just a soft sided cooler. It came with one bigger and one smaller. I have used this set as lugage for some time now. It is weather proof. I tested it out many times. I put a cardboard box inside to stiffen it up a bit.

The 3 cooler set was $9.99 at Target.

Yep, I have the racks for the V35s and they are mounted. I ike the way the V35s look on the bike. As a second option I might consider black Trax boxes. But not until I win the lotery.
