SOS - Help - Kappa box jammed shut

Help!

I'm in a hotel room and my Kappa top box is jammed shut. No matter how I play around with it, it won't open.

I gotta tell you I'm not impressed with this piece of junk. First time out today and the plastic part of the key crumbled. Now the bloody thing is jammed shut. If anybody knows how to get into it please let me know.

If anybody is thinking of buying Kappa product don't waste your money. They should call it Crappa. What a piece of sh&t.

I got it open by turning the key with a pair of pliers and bashing the box on the floor. The latch mechanism on this box really sucks. It looks like I'll be making another purchase once I get home.

I've had my Givi 35 for about 5 years and its still going strong.

Might want to put them on your list to consider next time round.

I also had luck with a cheap one from JC Whitney.

The mounting plate was metal, not plastic like Givi, and it went a bit rusty. But the trunk itself was great-it wouldn't fit the Givi mount unfortunately.

thanks Machog. Krappa apparently is a company formed by the daughter of the founder of Givi. I guess the old man forgot to teach her a few things.

If the key had of fallen apart while I was riding I would have lost it. It's a good thing I brought the spare key.
