Otd Price

I was quoted $7290 otd for an '09 v. I was wondering if this sounded about right. btw, that price included everything.

thanks

Not bad for OTD, but I think that depends on where you live. Probably a good deal in California, from what I've been reading here...

I paid $7137 OTD last weekend here in Oregon. MSRP is $7099 but they gave me a discount for being a repeat customer. $6969 for the bike then the rest was DMV, title and license fees. So I would say, depending on the market where you live, it is probably not a bad deal.

OTD Price

I signed up for $7,299 in southern CA. Best I could find in this area.

Potus, great deal! Care to share the dealers name. Was that tax included? If so that's beyond great. There is a dealer here in MN that has an 08. Looking to see what I should offer him.

Included taxes, title, shipping, prep, documentation, inspection, and even a chocolate cake! I got it from one of the Mancuso dealerships in Houston. I got quotes from about 1/2 dozen dealers in the area with OTD prices ranging from $6050 - $6550. There seems to be quite a few '08s that the dealers are trying to get off the floor around here.

On www.cycletrader.com there are two dealers (one in IL and one in FL) selling 09's for $6k without the dealer bs of shipping/setup/taxes... There are lots offered under $6500 all over the country.

Because of your post I am a proud owner of a green 09 versys. I traded in my ninja 250 and the dealer in Illinois (BBK motorsports in Elgin) was nothing but straight up; no games at all. They gave me a out the door cost of $7194 ($5999 but you still have to pay title, tax, doc, prep) over the phone. Within the same time period they sold a blue one and gave us both orientation on the bike. The cheapest I found in a 100 mile radius was $6500 plus all the fees. Best part is that I'm paying only $10 more a month for insurance from the 250.

My OTD price was $7192. Not too shabby I guess.

There is a delear in KY that advertises $6300 (everything except taxes) for an 09. I guess depending on your state's tax rate and if you purchase warranty, it's going to be around $7k. OTD for $6050 is amazing; especially since the sales tax rate for your area looks to be around 8%. Something like $5500 for a new 08! Now if I only lived a 1000miles closer...

OTD prices aren't a good comparison because of the wide variation in taxes and license fees in different states. MI makes a buyer pay sales tax on the MSRP, no matter what kind of a deal he made with the dealer. Sucks.

I got mine today for $6700, which is $400 under MSRP. I made an offer, and they took it. I had to pay 6% sales tax on that $400, though.

Here's the line item breakdown if that helps:
Sale Price: $5,000
Sales Tax: $312.50 (6.25% on sale price)
Shipping: $295
Prep: $295
Title Fee: $96.30
Document Fee: $50.00

Total OTD: $6,048.80

Pretty good deal I think. I think the $5,000 was probably around cost, they just wanted it off the floor.

Speadsheet of cost breakdown

I put this together for my own benefit, but maybe somebody else could find it useful.

It does a cost comparison between dealers, adds up the accessories I want/like, new riding gear, and my "wish list".

As always, it all adds up to more than you'd like. It's a spreadsheet, but I had to zip it as .xls files aren't allowed for upload.

I know your excel spreadsheet was for cost comparison but I think your on to something with your list. Throughout the forum there's mention of different products that will fit the versys but finding them quickly is a hassle. Would be nice to have a master list of items that will fit the versys be it from handgrips to Z1000 mirrors.
When I was on the ninja 250 forum they had everything organized by group which made it extremely easy to find what your looking for.

I just paid $7335 here in NYS OTD. Not bad considering I had quotes as high as $7900. A blue '09, and I pick it up today!! So excited!!!
