Flogged the VS in San Diego mtns today

Had a great time, even though I've been a little sick the last 4 days and still not quite over it. But the weather here is beautiful, sunny and warm, just a little high clouds and wind. Almost all of the snow in the mountains has melted off, the trees and grasses were bright green, the roads clear and dry, and the lakes and creeks sparkling. A perfect day for a ride.

The VS was beautiful, tracking lightly and tightly through some of my favorite twisty roads. Here we are on Mesa Grande Rd, rising steeply up from the valley with some sweet turns:

Doctor Doom was my co-pilot, keeping the "man" at bay. No one dares chase Doom!

Went up to Palomar Mountain (did get passed by a group of sport bike riders, some of the regular ricky racers). But I had the road to myself after they disappeared in the distance, and the VS was so sweet, just inspiring confidence on every turn as he just tracked tighter and smoother on every turn. Sweet!

Finished the day with Julian Apple Pie ala mode:

Took the crowded way home, but no worries. Even saw another green Versys turning left off of Hwy 67 onto Poway road. Anyone here claim it? I waved and gave a big thumbs up when I saw it was another VS.

Home safe, with 157 miles on the clock for the day. Head congested a bit but it was a good break from hanging around the house with a box of tissues.

:P

What a great looking bike, love the clear indicators and the rim stripes.

We had a cold front come thru Dallas a couple of days ago and it dropped into the low 20's at nite and about 50 during the past couple of days. The wind has been from the north about 30-40 mph, but that's suppose to quit and it's suppose to warm up this week. The buds are starting to come out here and Spring is just around the corner. Can't wait.

Sorry to hear about your ailment, but alas I am sharing your plight. Good for you getting out and riding. I think I'm about 2 days from that yet.

We got your cold front yesterday. Downtown Atlanta got six inches of snow.

Steve

I bought a motorcycle because my wife said that I couldn't! Now I have two and she still says I can't have another one!

Six inches isn't all that much in New England. School got canceled today, but we've got a good foot out there and it hasn't stopped yet.

That's one fine looking serving of pie a la mode, by the way, darcym.

That area is some of if not the best riding in So Cal. That pie is pretty darn good too. Its time for me to start hitting that area again. I have been to tied up on the weekends to get out and ride.

Great pics and report-some of my favorite roads. Nice job with the graphics logo etc, you do that or a professional job.

I come in from the otherside Hwy 74 from Palm.

6 or 7th would work. After that, 15th would work.

Save some money for gas to get you home!
