Handle bar end broke off - help

The end cap on my handle bar broke off on one side today. The thingy I am referring to is the threaded metal piece that is welded/soldered over the end of each end of the bar. To clarify, this is what the handle bar weights or hand guards attach to. Has anyone else had this issue? The only solution I can see is to remove the bars and take them to a welding shop. Is there any other solution that does not involve removing the bars and everything attached to them? Is there a glue strong enough for this?

Beside having it welded, you might be able to use a taperlock insert for handguard mounting, as available from Moose Racing. You might also have to file out the bore smooth. Canadian motorcycle dealers can get it from Parts Canada with no shipping charge.

Parts Canada # 182162 on page 214 of Parts Canada 2013 Offroad catalogue.

I really like aka Yamadog's option. You would need to have a clean smooth bore in the handlebar, without the standard bar-end mount still welded in.

These bar end 'weights' are actually lighter than stock, and made of aluminum instead of steel.

Heavy stainless steel bar end weights are also available.

If it's on the throttle side, you could easily ride it to a welder, and remove a couple screws to slide out your throttle tube on site... You could also pull off your left handgrip only to have it welded. No big deal, really.

I'd weld it up for you! Maybe you could find a welder closer to you!
