2010 Hepco Becker Skid Plate on earlier models?

Anybody tried it or looked at it?

The SW Motech skid plate fits all models according to Twisted Throttle.

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-mo...-versys-650-07

Obviously, the mounting points may and probably are different.

I would really like to use the HB engine guard (which is not compatible with the SW Motech skid plate).

I'm not liking the Happy Trails alternative.

Any other ideas or suggestions. I can do many things, but metal fabrication is not one of them.

Thanks

I would bet that it would fit on the earlier models. When I got my H/B Crash Bars mid 2010 the only difference between the crash bars for the newer Versys was 2 longer bolts that you can see at the lower portion of the photo i attached. The bars are exactly the same.

Thanks for your response Weljo, but I'm concerned about fitting the HB skid plate made for the newer Versys.

There is an HB crash bar application readily available for the first generation. I should add that it is different than the newer version. The skid plate on the other hand is only available for the 2010 and up.

If you did address that, I'm sorry but I wasn't sure and wanted to clarify.

Thanks again.

What i was saying is that the H/B Crash Bars on my 09 will fit on the newer models also. The only difference is 2 longer bolts that attach to the thin bar by the knees. If you click onto the photo i attached above it shows whats needed between the older and newer models. Same mounting points on the different models. They only changed cosmetics and added a few rubber mounts on the newer models. So if it fits on a newer model it should fit on an older one. So from what i take from you question is Will the H/B Crash Bars and H/B Skid Plate work together. If they work on an 2011 model it should also work on an 09 model
