Dealer delivered my new 2008 Versys today

Dealer brought my new 2008 Versys today on a trailer and took away my 1600 Classic. Even gave me money back to boot. He lowered it with Speedys kit and cut off the sidestand and put on the flatfoot. Only charged me $68 for labor which i think was very resonable. It was a balmy 45 and raining here in Iowa and might just melt the snow on the ground. Headed into the 30's is why i didn't ride it home the 40 miles. Rain and freezing. I did however ride it a day ago for a mile or so. Liked the kit a lot. Now flatfooted. Cruiser was nice but just too heavy for me and not my style. I just don't travel anymore and only solo now and my health doesn't dictate that heavy of bike. I missed the Ninja 650 R I had and the handling and engine power. Not the leaned over position is why i like the sit up style and always have. Just didn't think i could ever touch on the Versys. Now to wait for warm weather (no snow) to break it in and add things like handguards. So many bikes and so little time. Wife thinks i better keep this one awhile. Told her i would. I will, i will. Hey i told her it was all you guys fault for talking me into it. thanks, really

The secret to buying new bikes Deano and some know this on the forum. Always buy the same color. Then you can just tell the wife you put some new farkle thingy on it and that is why it looks a little different. Don't forget to take the dealer plate off though, dead giveaway

If I new what I was doing, I wouldn't still be working

I have used that buy the same color on her so many times she got wise to it. Besides the last two Were black and i would love to have had a black Versys but red was the only color available. Did take it for a 22 mile ride to the gas station to fill it up today. Was 60 here today and what a difference from 38 below a week ago. 30's tomorrow. One time i did trade same color and took her about a week to notice the new one. Really do like this bike. thanks guys

Contractor you are brilliant-but you probably knew that-IF I ever sell the Versys I'll try that.

Hacktracker, We were to a BMW ralley in Asheville a few years back and what a wonderful town. Even the mayor was involved and had a parade. Really nice area. Town was so grateful to all of us coming.

Yep, we sure know how to welcome visitors in this town. I'm a transplant from just outside of Washington DC. I just love it down here!
