Fixed my swingarm scratch

I'm happy with it. Thanks to Invader for the link on colorite (3808 Kawasaki 458 Met Silver.) It's a little darker than original as applied but has the same metallic flakes, so maybe with time will blend in.

Wow... It may lighten up a bit and match better as it cures.

I'm gonna park it in the sun tomorrow at work, but even if it doesn't lighten up I'm very happy. I have plenty of paint left in the can to do the whole swingarm later if I want. That scratch was driving me nuts!

Colorite and other bike specific paints are expensive. $15+.
I need to touch up my rear silver swingarm as well but want to know if anyone has found a cheap store bought silver that matches pretty well?

90% of the stickers on all my bikes cover a scratch of some sort or a scuff.

But I've already placed stickers where I could.

I had five different silver paint pens and small touchup bottles which I tried. None were really close. Then I pulled out my bottle of HWP101 Silver and it was VERY close!

What I do is shake it real good, spray a bit of it into the cap and let it sit for about 3-5 mins to dry out a bit. Then I use a really good small touchup paint brush to touchup small scratches. You can get the can for $7 or so at auto stores and Wal Mart.

UPDATE:

I found an even better match than the above Color Rite. It's called Rust-Oleum Metallic Brilliant Metal Finish: 7271 Silver Metallic. It's available at Walmart and looks better than the Color Rite. If you're going to touch it up with a brush make sure you get high quality brushes, not the cheapos.
