Met the famous SPEEDY today!

Posted this on the UK/international forum, but for those that don't go there here it is.

Picked up my passenger foot peg blocks. http://motowerk.com/passengerfootpegblocks.aspx

As with all Speedy's products they are a work of art. This is my third Speedy product and they are all great.

Got to "tour" his manufacturing facility and see some of his CAD and other machines-very impressive.

He was even kind enough to fit the pegs on the spot;

Two red Versys in California-a rare event. Kawasaki did not import the Versys into CA in its first year in the US-its now being sold there, but in Green and Blue.

As you can see he's a handsome fellow as with all Versys owners and I made him an honorary member of the Viagra's (VersysIntoAdventurersandGreatRidesAnytime).

Interesting early 60's Italian Harley Davidson lurking in the back of his shop.

I think we can all look forward to some exciting new products for our V's from Speedy, I have ordered one of them already. Sorry don't want to spoil his thunder. But if you have ideas for Versys product that might sell, drop him a line-he's always looking for new ideas to machine.

That's sweet! I just installed his lowering blocks yesterday and was impressed with the machining. I wondered what kind of shop he would need to make such quality parts.

Hey do you get a discount if you buy direct?

Also, any chance he mentioned the correct torque specs for the large bolt that holds the relocated foot peg to the lowering block?

<Edit: Nevermind... just found them in the PDF... 18ftlbs>

CC, no discount, paid full boat cash. But in my view its worth it-you always get what you pay for. I did get the free installation by the designer & builder, so I guess you could call that a discount!

Aww geez, your going to hold us on the line until we hear about this new mystery product? Or is it the new passenger foot peg lowering kit? I have several products from Speedy - the foot lowering pegs, the GPS holder, and the fat foot. All good products and would definitely buy from Speedy again.

First of all, LOL! I've never heard of VIAGRA -- Are these the same guys who send me all that email?

I don't think it is the passenger kit, as that was what was getting installed during the visit. I am also on the edge though wondering what his next product will be. I am already planning on ordering 3 items from him before the riding season starts....maybe 4 depending on this new mysterious product......C'mon Speedy, give us a hint!

You are correct its not and its not just one product. I'm sworn to secrecy, but as I mentioned, I've ordered one sight unseen and he has another 2-3 excellent ideas.

No our 'members' don't do lots of email. We are just a bunch of 'hard' or should that be hardy riders in the Pacific Northwet. If you ever find yourself around OR, WA or that general area look us up. We are 'firm' believers in less email more riding. Our slogan is "A hard ride is good to come by".

Did Speedy happen to give you a loose timeline when we might be able to get a glimpse of some of these new items?

The only other things that I can think of that people have complained about is the seat, the windscreen, and a centerstand. I hope its not something for the windscreen!!.....I have a Madstad enroute!!

Yes! I'm sure he'll be adding to his Motowerk product line in the next few months.

Keep in mind the type of product he makes. It won't be crash bars, top rack mounts or stone guards, it will be smaller precision milled blocks, as with all his other products.

If you have a product for the V that fits into that category send him and email. Obviously it would have to have market potential-not just a one off for a unique application.

I didn't really think you'd get a discount...I was just joking. Although there was some savings in not paying for shipping though!

The free install and hanging out is the real bonus. I'll be ordering a flat foot from him soon and look forward to his new kree-ations.

P.S. - I'm envisioning a beefy one-piece bar riser that matches the contours of the stock mount???
