Key not go into ignition

Please help! It was snowing here in Apex, NC. Now this morning when I tried to put the key into the ignition, it did not want to go in completely. Need another 5mm (don't ask me inches) to go in.

It is like it is hitting a rock wall inside. I have turned the handle bars to disengage the steering lock, but alas. No avail.

Could it be the cold or security something? I have no idea. Please anybody help. My Baton Rouge needs to purrr!!!

I'd make sure the key isn't bent...then it could possible be frozin liquid.

ok. problem solved. Wacked it with WD40 and pushed it in hard. Think it was frozen or something. Was standing for 3 weeks. Sorry for the scare.

No the key is fine. Must have been some frozen liquid or something that decided this morning to give me a scare. My baby must have been a bit cold.

P.S. Nice Kudu you shot there on your Pic

o yes. i did a cross country trip on the Versys for 2 months so I thought she might have decided to take a loooong break. Yes, Baton Rouge does have a soul. Now she is purring again like the sweet one she is.

If it happens again, heat up the key with a Bic lighter. It shouldn't take much heat to loosen it up.
