Center Stand Update.....I quit

Well boys and girls, I have sad news. I have worked every possible combination for a center stand and it just not going to happen. The main problem is the shift side food peg mount. It is not a stationary mount like the brake side and by being so, lets the peg rotate under load thereby moving the geometry of the stand by as much as an inch. I have fought it every day for a month now, spent a fair amount of money, and I hate to say it, but it just won't work. Short of drilling and tapping the frame, (which is much to much work, and would look awful) I'm licked. I hate to admit defeat, but I'm whipped.

Sorry to get your hopes up, but I tried. I'm looking at another angle, but it doesn't look promising either. Kawasaki intended that there be no center stand in their design and I guess they were serious.

If anything else develops I'll keep you posted.

No shame in giving it your best shot man! Maybe something will come to you in your dreams when you take some time to step away from it.

Until then, catch up on other projects eh? Maybe some riding?

Thanks for all the hard work, Don.

Something that replaces the rearsets might alleviate the issues you ran into.

Those early designs looked promising, remember that nothing ever gets wasted in this sort of thing. :-)

Good idea, I'm going riding Thursday when the temp here is suppose to be near 80. Love this Texas winter weather.

No, that one is nothing like what I was working on. Mine was to be an intrinsic part of the bike, but the way the bike is designed, my plans proved unworkable. Here is what I was working on.
