Skid Plate compatibility Gen3/Gen2

Hi all

I know I've read about this before but I can't for the life of me find the posts...

Knowing that on the Versys, "skid plate" is a relative term, and knowing that some fabrication of mounting hardware would be required...

Will a Gen3 (2015+) SWM plate work on a Gen2 (2010-14) bike? Seems the plates themselves are similar. Is it the mounting points that differ OR are there major differences which would make the fit impossible?

The goal is a plate for my 2012... mainly as I like how the SWM plate looks... and I like to tinker. I'm not log-hopping with this bike.

Here to learn.

Alternative to SWM and a bit cheaper if you want and please specify your model year when purchasing. There will be some difference between model and year of manufacturing . Engineering and measuring tolerance is between 1mm~3mm on aftermarket cosmetic parts.
