Set my valve clearances today

Piece of cake, All intakes were tight,They were all @ 0.005 all shims were the same .One snug exhaust.
I shimmed to 0.008 on intakes and 0.012 0n exh. I think the worse part was getting the chain tensioner in and out LOL.
Now I have to borrow a carb sync tool and one more thing out of the way for my trip. The old girl seems to run pretty good .
Also extended the vacuum lines while I was at it .I have read several people say that after first valve adjust they never seem to change how does this compare with your experiences?

Smooth is fast.

If you followed my How To thread, you would have found the photo with the breaker bar on the crankshaft, turning clockwise about 5' moves the slack chain towards the rear, putting the chain tensioner in , one handed . And on the 2015 more difficult than the MK-1 & MK-2.

I edited my post #9, now in red about the chain tensioner, easy peezy https://www.kawasakiversys.com/forum...onewizard.html
quexpress and foxpro like this.

I did my valve shim at 11,000 and found like yourself, tight valves. What surprises me is Kawasaki now says at 12,000 and 24,000 for the X300, I think the V650 MK-3 also has a change in the manual in 2018.

In my experience they will still tighten, but SLOWLY.
