A little late to the party Dave since I have been out of touch with the forum since last May. So sorry to hear what happened but so happy you survived, albeit now having to put up with new found problems.

Re your decisions for the future, remember that your wife was with you during the worse and will hopefully be there for the rest of your days. Getting back on 2 wheels isn't really all that important. ATGATT, ATGATT and ATGATT everyone. Went for a short ride the other day to gas up and realized half way there that I did not have on any over-pant protection or under garment BOHN protection, and felt naked since that is the only way I have ridden in recent years. Praying for your recovery.

Thanks rayj.

The good news is I’ve been back at work for 3 weeks and can walk just fine using a cane. Still doing rehab. I’m just so glad I can drive and walk again, and being back at work has been wonderful.

Will I miss riding? Absolutely, but have to put wife and kids first. Just glad I’m still here to be with them.

What I won’t miss is dealing with insurance companies. OMG, it’s a wonder any can stay in business, what with their chronic bureaucracy!

Ride safe,
Dave

They stay in business because they LOVE collecting premiums.

Those ivory towers and giant back office facilities filled with bodies counting money is very telling. As dmer said, they love collecting premiums, but it's not as easy getting it back from them when needed.
