Differences in model years from 2015-now

I do not currently own a Versys, but I have targeted it as my next bike, and am looking for the right one now, and anticipate getting one within the next month. I'm looking at the 3rd Gen, primarily, but was wondering if there's been any differences from year to year between 2015 and the current one? Besides color, that is.

Yes - later versions have a "gear indicator" in the gauges.

I think gear indicator was added in 2018. I have heard the computers and fueling vary year to year as well.

My 2017 650 LT has a gear indicator. I thought the gear indicator was added in 2017. Between the bullet proof parallel twin and and the low RPM surge it's a bit tractoresque.

There is a very good flash available only for the 15s and 16s, unless something has changed.

Not sure what you mean by flash, Steve?

Confirmed - I looked at a 2017, today, and it did indeed have a gear indicator.

Flash is that Red suit with lightening bolts on it which makes your V go faster. 🤪 Flashing is adjusting the electronics on bike with a computer. When changing to a different full exhaust system usually you change to a different power commander & re flash . I never have done any of these to any of my bikes other than just changing to a different Slip-On Exhaust.
When I was a Kid I Really wanted one of those Red Suits.

Ah, so essentially you're flashing the firmware, got it. Thanks! Hope the suit fits!
