Sunny But Still Frozen in BC

Went for a pleasant ride in sunny +17 weather. Roads are in good shape except for a lot of gravel left over from the winter snow. Stopped by Philips Lake in the Turtle Valley, but it still hasn't iced off. Very soon though as the edge of the lake is returning to liquid.

Lol Well, 17C = 62.6F so it was actually very nice as far as temperature goes. The ice is clinging onto the lakes longer than I expected, but it'll be gone soon.

I like California too, but I only have Canadian dollars which would make it cost prohibitive!

17C / 62F in the sun is a wonderful ride.
Glad you got out to enjoy it.

I just moved back to Southern California from Oregon. I get to ride everyday now but I rode pretty much every day in Oregon except when icy. Me and ice do not get along. Haha

What a difference from the other day. Instead of encountering ice, I found fire! This is just a few kilometers from my place and I'm glad the breeze is blowing the smoke away from us. It is an intentional burn for land management but last year one got out of hand and required attention. I'd be happier if they found another way...
